Welcome to my blog!!!

You know, some folks say: “My Life has gone to the Dogs”, well in my case at Chasin’Pets, it really has!  I wanted to create a very Zen-like atmosphere, different from other doggy daycare facilities I saw out there. Very intimate, very nurturing where I would actually want my kids to stay and socialize. I have a corporate background as you will see, but I also have a love of dogs and I just had to figure out a way to combine my corporate training into something that I love.”Yeah, yeah” you say, “there are loads of doggy this and doggy thats all over Los Angeles”…….You are CORRECT, but there is none like our place.  Think of us as a private school that allows your child to express and grow in a warm and creative space while they are here. You will see what I am writing about, as life unfolds here and you keep checking back to our blog.  Now on to how I began.

I have worked most of my adult life as a peddler of sorts, always on the road, in front of clients, on the
phone, doing mad paperwork. Expense accounts and car allowance.  You get the picture.  And as much as I have and still treasure the friends I have made along my journey, life took me in an unexpected direction, when I fell in love with Zoe, my first dog and current pal. She is my first, but alas, I found 2 more to add to my family.  And so my corporate story changed. And how I viewed my world changed.  I had to be responsible for Zoe’s well being, my personal life, my professional life….I could not stand to leave Zoe alone…I would miss work to stay with her. Clearly, I had issues!  I made the choice and the leap of faith that working with all the little guys and gals here was to be my passion and my privilege. We uber specialize in small to medium size guests, in a home environment: with a beautiful garden.  All very nice, but I digress. Anyhow, that my friends, was 10 years ago and I am still on the journey and I still learn something new every day.  Every guest here is treated with lots of love and respect, since no 2 little ones are the same.  I know, everyone around says this.  But it is true here.  You see, we really run our business from a place of love and respect. We run our business like camp: activities, walks, massages, naps and parents are always called every single day.  I would want to know what’s going on where my little one was hanging about. How are they doing there, I hope they pass the trial daycare day!  What happens if they want to stay there and not go home?!  Oh yes, the list does go on and on and it never gets boring to hear.

I know I have the best job, for me, on the planet.  We are so particular about the care we provide.  We wish we could take everyone who crosses our path…..but we can’t.  Everyone has to get along, learn to share and learn the ropes, including parents.  Yeah, that’s right, even the parents have to play nicely in our sandbox.

I have stories….boy do I have stories.  If you aren’t a dog person….well— this is not for you.  If you love your dog(s) like we do here, then come along for the ride.  I bettcha, many of you will recognize your kids in the stories that will be told.  You will have to stick around to find out!  Hugs and Licks!
