Ain’t Nothing Better Than My Dog!

by admin on January 24, 2012

“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader.  He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worth of such devotion.” Unknown.

When I write on a subject, that really moves me to my core, it takes time. Time to think. Time to really express how I feel and how I believe my readers feel.

Why do we love our dogs so much?  It’s a Feeling, isn’t it? That feeling, makes your heart jump in your chest. It brings tears to your eyes. The quote I chose, sums up my feelings best. Please make me worthy to accept their conditional devotion.  Do I falter at times? I do and I’m embarrassed at my behavior.

When I touch my dogs, there is such a special emotion that comes to my heart. I can’t explain it.  I guess I could break out all my books from psychologists, vets, palms readers on this subject. But I know what I feel is real.

I’ve seen toughest people, melt in front of me, when they talk about their dogs.

This blog is about the pure love,  your dog gives you every waking moment they are here with us.  When I hold my dogs, kiss them, touch them, it makes me Feel good. They are our healers.

You have a “day” at the office. A fight with your partner, spouse,  a throw down with your lousy neighbors. But when you come inside from the noise outside, who’s there for you? Your dog. You kiss them, they lick you, you talk to them, you tell them you love them. Even if they’ve dug a hole in your carpet while you were away. You still love them and they LOVE YOU.

In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn’t merely try to train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog.” Edward Hoagland “Dogs and tug of life. And there you have it.

Tank and I are in bed and I just read this to him. He would like to add that being with a dog is a lot like a marriage. Both partners tend to pick up traits and habits from the other until one becomes almost an extension of the other. Yes Tank, you learned some bad habits from me. He HAD to remind me!! LOL

Bill and Tank, you both are spot on. We do learn from each other. Where 1 begins the other takes over. My kids are an extension of me too. I actually can see my traits in all of them…and at times, they’ve all pointed out my behavior that has been less than stellar.

You both have been such great supporters of the blog. I look forward, as you know, to each comment from you.

Tank, just so YOU know, you are woven in to this blog. Make no mstake about it.
